Program description
Each student brings their own story into the classroom, and some of those stories include experiences of trauma. These experiences can profoundly impact a student’s ability to learn, connect and thrive.
Phoenix Australia's Trauma-Informed Practice in Schools program equips primary and secondary school staff with practical strategies to support trauma-impacted students, helping to reduce the adverse effects on their mental health, wellbeing and learning.
This evidence-informed, self-paced online course provides tools for recognising trauma’s impacts and responding with sensitivity and awareness. Participants explore how these strategies can be adapted to different school settings and learn approaches to self-care that support their own wellbeing.
The program includes 5 short modules that take about 1.5 hours to complete. It may also be delivered as a 2-hour face-to-face workshop.

- Describe the key concepts and practices of trauma-informed approaches in schools
