Excellent leadership is not just for those in formal leadership positions – it is something everyone can aspire to and work towards, no matter their career stage.
The Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership (the Academy) has many professional learning opportunities for teachers and school leaders to develop their leadership skills, including Master Trainer Programs.
2024 Master Trainer Programs
The below Master Trainer Programs provide educators with the skills to influence and lead from any level along with access to the latest evidence-informed research to apply in the classroom.
Literacy master trainers and numeracy master trainers
Participants in these programs will develop a deep understanding of effective literacy or numeracy practice, helping them to become master trainers and lead program improvements in their school.
Speaking about the literacy program, one teacher participant noted the program’s comprehensive approach to giving educators a well-rounded understanding of literacy instruction.
‘It covers a wide range of topics, including reading comprehension strategies, writing instruction techniques, phonics and phonemic awareness and vocabulary development,’ the teacher said.
The programs are suitable for school leaders, experienced teachers or system leaders. Programs commence in Term 1, 2024, and will be delivered over 3 months. Fees are fully subsidised.
