Implementation considerations

  • Target population: Students in years 3 to 10.
  • Program adaptability: The program is built on a fixed curriculum but the school engagement team will work with teachers to support each school's specific context. The program is adaptable for diverse cohorts including LGBTIQA+ students, asylum seeker and refugee students, culturally and linguistically diverse students, and neurodivergent students.
  • Staffing: The program is delivered by highly-trained young facilitators, meaning schools are not required to backfill for teaching staff during program implementation. Supervising teachers must always be present in the room to assist facilitators with behaviour management and to step in if disciplinary action is required.
  • Training requirements: There are no training requirements from schools prior to program implementation.
  • Factors to consider: Schools will require an audio-visual set-up. The minimum number of participants is 25. A whole-school platform (currently available only to Secondary schools) is accessible online as a source of ongoing support for students, teachers and parents/carers.
  • Australian context: This program has been developed and applied in Australia.
