Implementation considerations
- Target population: Wellbeing Leaders in schools.
- Program adaptability: The program can be adapted, although participants would need to notify WISA of the school’s specific needs and discuss them prior to the program delivery. An example of an adaptation would be inviting an Aboriginal Elder or Koorie Education Officer to join the training.
- Staffing: Backfilling may be necessary, depending on the school and if the wellbeing leader has a teaching load.
- Training requirements: A screen for showing the PowerPoint and film clips and a quiet space for participants to sit and participate in the training are required.
- Factors to consider: WISA provides 4 x one-hour check in sessions with participants at a 6 week, 3, 6, and 12-month time frame. It is ideal for more than one person per school to participate, as the cost remains the same for one person or a group of people.
- Australian context: This program has been developed and applied in Australia.
