Implementation considerations

  • Target population: Teaching staff in all primary settings.
  • Program adaptability: The program is suitable for diverse cohorts including:
    • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
    • asylum seeker and refugee students
    • culturally and linguistically diverse students
    • LGBTIQA+ students
    • neurodivergent students
    • students with a disability.
  • Staffing: Schools will not need backfill if session is held on a non-teaching day. If schools do the session on a teaching day, backfill may be required.
  • Training requirements: It is useful if schools have information technology equipment to display a PowerPoint presentation. Training takes 5–6 hours based on school’s needs and context.
  • Factors to consider: No need for schools to do anything before program implementation. No minimum number of participants required. The Australian Childhood Foundation can support schools with further implementation support at an additional cost negotiated based on the needs of the school.
  • Australian context: This program has been developed and applied in Australia.
